After AWANA, what next? Summer Schedule

AWANA concludes with a celebration of effort of learning God’s Word at the awards night on Wednesday, May 16 at 6 pm in the worship center.

However, just because AWANA concludes does not mean there are not biblical training opportunities available during the summer months. In fact, there are some exciting opportunities for parents and their children to be involved together. I encourage you to take advantage of these for you and your family.


The new schedule will begin on Wednesday, June 6th from 6 pm – 7 pm.

Here are the Options:

Cubbies age:  TeamKid Curriculum

Option 1:  KIDS of COURAGE: Helping Kids be Bold Witnesses for Christ

Ages: Kindergarten – 6th grade

Location: Chapel

Description:  Kids of Courage provides examples of courageous Christians and leads students to reach out to persecuted believers with prayers and action. Students will be introduced to Christians their age – real Kids of Courage at risk for their faith today in five countries:China,Egypt,Nigeria,North Korea, andIndia. They will learn how to pray for those who suffer for their faith, and how to become Kids of Courage themselves.

Option 2:  How to Study the Bible Simply

Participants:  For parents and their children ages 8 and up. This class will be divided by gender with David Leverett teaching the men and Carole House teaching the women. Children can go into class with either parent. Teen boys would attend class with David Leverett.

Description:  This is a 6 week precept study on how to study the bible using the inductive method of study. 

I highly encourage parents with children ages 8 and up to attend this class.

1)  You as a parent are involved and learning alongside your child on how to study the bible. You can continue this training at home.

2)  You are learning how to study the bible using sound principles and techniques. 

Cost: $12 per person (each person will need a workbook)

Option 3: Visionary Parenting

Participants:  Parents or grandparents of children infancy through high school

Location: Room 509

This series captures eight key visions for your family based on a foundation of Deut. 6:5-7. Topics include:

  • God’s grand vision for the home
  • A God-filled normal life
  • Biblical motherhood
  • Family Worship
  • Multi-generational faithfulness
  • A Safe Home
  • Biblical fatherhood
  • Discipline that Disciples


Kids Worship for both groups (ages 4 – 1st grade) and D6LIVE (2nd – 6th grades) will take a break beginning June 24th – August 5.  Children ages 4 and up will worship with their families on Sunday mornings. Kids worship will kick back up in full power on Sunday, August 12.

SKY 2012 VBS begins June 11 – 15 with a huge VBS celebration on Sunday morning, June 17th.

KIDScamp2012: CREATED!! is July 27 – 30 for children that have just completed 1st – 6th grades.  Contact the church office if you would like your child to attend.  There is a $55 deposit to hold your spot.

AWANA kicks off on Wednesday, August 29, 2012
